Historical Background Info on Greek Temples
 I wanted to look up the whole idea behind the role of the temple. Here is what I found. Greek temples were built to honor and glorify the patron deity. They were built as the gods' house on earth and usually held a cult statue featuring a god. "Most religious buildings today are intended for congregational worship where groups of people get together on a regular basis, celebrate their God, and receive spiritual comfort. Ancient Greek temples were rarely used this way. They were meant to serve as homes for the individual god or goddess who protected and sustained the community." I can't believe they are doing this. (laughing) They are cementing this whole messiah notion. "It was the needs of the gods that were most important. They controlled the forces of nature, the sun and rain which nourished their crops and the winds which drove their ships." I mean, this could be Al Gore speaking. Oh, yeah, the gods are certainly in charge of the level of the oceans, the seas rising and falling. "Although generally benevolent, the gods could be quite capricious and were liable to turn against the community, so it was in everyone's interests to make sure that they should feel completely at home in their temple," the gods. "Their houses were the finest, equipped with a staff of servants to look after their every need. They receive daily offerings of food and drink along with a proper share of the harvest and the profits of any trading or military activity." This is the image behind Obama tomorrow night at Invesco Field at Mile High. Now, I know that this is a Greek temple, but it will, to a lot of people, also look like a Roman temple. And you all know what happened at one time in the Roman temple. Could it be that tomorrow night on Barack Obama's Greek temple, somebody named Clinton will succeed in stabbing The Messiah in the back? Talk About Fips Flops
Well, as the Democrats go into their last day of the convention they are anticipating their saviors acceptance speech. But let me try to understand how Joe Biden and Hilary Clinton can do a 180 degree about face on Obama's readiness to lead their party, and the country in one of the most uncertain times in our recent history.
"I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. It's awful hard, with only a little bit of experience to have a clear sense of what you would do on the most critical issues facing us today." _ August 2007 Biden interview with Newsweek.
"Barack is ready. This is his time. This is our time. This is America's time." Quote from Joe Biden's VEEP acceptance speech @ the Pepsi Center, Denver Colorado. August 2008.
Hilary Clinton has made similar claims with her 3 A.M. phone call ad, among others.
So, can someone please explain to me how the candidate with no experience 1 year ago suddenly gained such experience in such a short time? Could it have been when he went to Iraq, and only posed for a photo-op with the soldiers but never took the time to talk to any of them personally about the state of affairs on the streets?
Oh, how about the trip to Germany where he told his German audience on July 24, 2008: “I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before, although tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen — a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world. People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time,” he said. Sure sounds like a stump speech to me. Since when do German citizens vote in our elections?
Maybe tomorrow night as Barack takes the stage at the Greek Temple built in his honor (formerly Invesco Field @ Mile High) the sky will part and we will all be enlightened....NOT!!

OBAMA IS NO JFK!!
It has been quite a while since I've made an entry on here, but I couldn't let this week go by without putting my 2 cents worth in. I was just listening to Carolyn Kennedy speaking at the DNC convention and I know her father would be turning over in his grave at the thought of her endorsing Barack Obama. He was a devout Roman Catholic who almost didn't win the 1960 election because of his religious beliefs. Jack Kennedy would never have supported partial birth abortions. Jack Kennedy wasn't for marriage between a man & a man or a woman & a woman. I'm sure in the 60's these weren't issues that he ever could have dreamed would be in the political forum of the 21st century. In fact I highly doubt he EVER thought of this possibility in humanity.
Trust me the protesters downtown who think that they can "Recreate 68" have no idea what was even happening in 1968. Young men were being drafted and sent to Vietnam, yet they couldn't even vote for president. Woman had to fight for jobs that they were more qualified for than a man. Blacks were in the minority. The thought of a biracial, arrogant, affirmative action propelled politician would have been the hallucination of someones bad acid trip!! Ya know, wouldn't that be nice if that's all it really was, a very, very bad nightmare?
